Cheektowaga,NY-On a cold night, in a suburb of Buffalo, I was happy and a bit surprised to see a pretty full crowd show up to see national recording artists Winger. At approximately 9:50, Winger took the stage and kicked off with “Blind Revolution Mad,” the first track off of their 1993 “Pull” CD. The band played a strong and tight 1 hour and 40 minute set that included all of their hits “Miles Away,” “Can’t get Enough,” and the crowd pleaser “17.” Guitarist Reb Beach who plays with passion and fire, was the showman he usually is by showing his amazing guitar wizardry during the set and his guitar solo as well. Frontman and bassist Kip Winger made plenty of references of how happy he was to be back in Buffalo and that how he and the band were appreciative of their participation. Besides playing bass, Kip showed his talent touting the keyboards on a couple of tracks including one of the highlights of the night “Rainbow in the Rose.” Another highlight of the show was the song “Junkyard Dog (Tears on the Stone)” which seemed to be a real fan favorite. Rounding out the members of Winger are original drummer Rod Morgenstein and guitarist John Roth (who has been with Winger since 1993.)
