Concert-Review-2008-tesla

Tesla smoked Club Infinity Sunday night 2/24, playing over an hour and half’s worth of music to an enthusiastic sold out crowd. The band played a wide range of old favorites as well as a new tune from their upcoming album. Due to Jeff Keith being a bit under the weather, the band took the stage a little before 8:50, and charged on triumphantly until the other side of 10:30. To the sound of constantly cheering fans, Tesla didn’t disappoint, and all were treated to an amazing show.

Vocalist Jeff Keith blasted away through the songs with an extremely powerful and forceful set of pipes. You would never have guessed that he was getting over the flu. He encouraged the crowd to sing as many of the words as they could in order to, “help him out.” Well, they did just that on crowd favorites such as, “ Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out),” “What You Give,” “Paradise,” “Love Song,” and “Signs.” However, Keith didn’t really need their help; he sounded great! They also performed a song from their upcoming release that is a fitting tribute written in honor of our troops.

Tesla-08

The outstanding band consisted of Dave Rude on guitar, Brian Wheat on bass, Troy Luccketta on drums, and the always electrifying Frank Hannon on lead guitar. Hannon’s playing is impeccable, and his solos really add an extra kick to an already exceptional group of musicians. You could really tell that the whole band absolutely love what they do, and their enthusiasm carried its way deep into the packed club.
