Anyone out there that's been living on the "Edge Of A Broken Heart," "Stop Cryin," because here to "Rev It Up," is former Vixen drummer, Roxy Petrucci!

Roxy is best known for her amazing skin pounding in the bands, Vixen, and of course, Madam X, along with her rocker sister, Maxine Petrucci. Roxy Petrucci is certainly no newcomer to the music business, and has a bunch of successful albums, projects and tours under her belt. The drummer has toured the world with some big names in her day, such as Ozzy, Aerosmith, and Kiss, just to name a couple.

Roxy is currently working on a project with solo artist, Lorraine Lewis, called Roktopuss, which kicks major ass! We at GlamMetal.com TM are happy to bring you this exclusive interview with the very lovely and talented Roxy Petrucci! Enjoy!

Roxy Petrucci, welcome to GlamMetal.com How are you?
I'm slammin!

Yes, you certainly are! I have to start off by saying, you are just as beautiful as ever! Besides pounding on the skins everyday, what's your secret for staying in such great shape?
Thanks for the compliment! I bike with my dog every morning and work out 4 to 5 days a week. Drumming also helps keep my arms toned and my mind energized.

Ok, seems you have a new project called Roktopuss. I really dig the name, very catchy! When did Rocktopuss begin, and who's in this project with you?
Lorraine Lewis contacted me over a year ago, and we were corresponding but didn't actually get together until recently. I'd been working with guitarist Brian Young and we had a couple of kick ass tracks already recorded. I decided to give them to Lorraine and see what vocal ideas she had. Wow! She definitely delivered. You can hear both songs on www.myspace.com/roktopuss

Is Roktopuss the name of the album, or is this a band name?
Roktopuss is the name of the band....don't ya just love it!

Yes I do! How would you best describe Roktopuss's music?
Fresh rock with melody and teeth!

What's the writing process like for Roktopuss?
Brian is a monster guitar player who has endless amounts of energy...its infectious. He'll rip through a ton of riff ideas, and we sift through them. Lorraine also has her own library of songs, and ideas so between the 3 of us we'll be rockin!

Do you have a full record complete, and if so, when is it scheduled to be released?
We're still getting to know one another, and need more jam time. We plan on playing a few live shows in L.A., and will keep writing and recording. We're currently talking with possible managers who'll jump on board and take us to the next level.

Do you plan to tour in support of this record?
I live to tour! There's nothing like getting on stage and playing for people who are totally diggin your music.

How is your lovely sister Maxine doing these days?
Listen to the Titania CD... She's kickin ass!

The two of you make a great rock team, do you have anything going on with Maxine at the moment, or have any plans in the works?
She's currently working on her second CD, and I'll be playing on a couple tracks. We live in different states, but I'm ready to hit the road with her when she's ready.

Ok, a couple of Vixen questions...When was the last time you toured with Vixen?
2001. The Voices of Metal tour with Vince Neil, Slaughter, and Ratt.

What are the chances of ever seeing a full blown Vixen reunion, with all of the original members, a new record, and a tour?
We were ambushed for VH1's "Band's Reunited Show" in 2004, and had a total blast! It was great to see everyone, and the chemistry between us was still alive and kickin. The band sounded great, but a reunion tour and record is unlikely. Everyone has moved on to other things, and I'm really excited about the potential of Roktopuss.

If you don't mind me asking, are you still friends with your former Vixen band mates?
We shared such extraordinary experiences together, good, bad and ugly....how could we not be friends?

You've been on a shit load of tours in your day, and you've been just about everywhere. Is there a particular tour that was most memorable for you?
Well, we toured with some of the biggest bands on earth! Ozzy, the Scorpions, Deep Purple and Kiss...Each tour was an amazing experience, filled with pranks and all sorts of shit. I gotta say that watching Ritchie Blackmore from backstage in his leather pants is still fresh in my mind.

What's a couple of your all-time favorite Glam-Metal bands from back in the day?
Madam X! I got such a kick watching Maxine, Godzilla and Bret tearin it up on stage, that it was a show for me also. You never knew what outrageous shit they would do on a nightly basis. Twisted Sister and Poison were also good live bands. Eventually, there were so many glam bands, that they blurred into one giant hair ball.

You've been in this business for a long time Roxy. What advice would you give to any aspiring musicians out there, trying to make it in this industry?
Don't pay attention to trends, or you'll be a day late and a dollar short. Love what you do and do it well. The bands that really make noise are the ones who's music has integrity, and they kick ass live.

At what age did you start playing drums, and who inspired you the most as a young musician?
I picked up the sticks at 14. My brother Remo, who is an amazing musician, kept me on my toes and introduced me to all sorts of cool music, and drummers. I wasn't a cheerleader or a scholar in school, but music gave me confidence. Eventually, Maxine and I started jamming and the rest is history.

What do you like to do for fun when your not working on music, or touring?
Music IS fun for me but I do like watching good movies, reading, working out, laughing,,,hangin with my hubby, dog, cat, and friends. I'm Italian, we love to eat and party with family and friends.

Anything you care to say to all of your fans and friends out there Roxy?
Thanx for stickin with me!

Thank you very much Roxy for taking the time and answering a few questions with us here at GlamMetal.com. We wish you the very best of luck with Roktopuss, and everything else you've got going on. Rock On Girl!
Right back at cha!
