Neurosonic The Phoenix Concert Hall Toronto, Ontario 2-19-08 By Gus Griesinger
Toronto, Ont - We were invited to Toronto to check out a new and exciting band called Neurosonic. They were opening for Puddle of Mudd at the Phoenix Concert Hall. You may have heard of these guys; the band played the mainstage on the 2007 Family Values Tour and their song “So Many People’ is featured on the “Resident Evil 3” Soundtrack. I met up with frontman Jason Darr before his set. He couldn’t have been more appreciative that we took the time to come down to the show.

Neurosonic took the stage at about 8:50pm and played a strong set that featured songs from their debut release “Drama Queen.” They opened up with “Are Solar” and I must admit, Jason’s vocals sound a lot like Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, which isn’t a bad thing by any means. Lead guitarist Troy Healy is an intense lead guitarist who definitely loves the limelight and was showing how much fun he was having up there during their opening set. Before the song “So Many People,” Jason went into how the song was inspired by Ashlee Simpson. After listening to the lyrics, you get an idea of how true the song is. The band does remind me a lot of Linkin Park. So with a few breaks and some radio airplay, I don’t see why this band that has the same potential as them can make it as big as they did as well! Definitely a must see when they the tour comes to your town!!
