Toronto,Ont- Hollywood rockers L.A. Guns, featuring Tracii Guns-guitar, Paul Black-vocals, Jeremy Guns-bass and Chad Steward-drums, played an enthusiastic, hard hitting set to an appreciative rock starved audience on Saturday night. This was the bands last performance before heading up further north to start recording their new CD to be titled “Pretty in Black.”

L.A. Guns took the stage and proceeded to rip through vintage material from the Paul Black era of the band. Black was the gregarious front man, kissing the hands of his adoring female fans in the front row and slapping hi-fives to the guys. Although Black may not have the vocal range of some of the others who have fronted L.A. Guns, he certainly has charisma, reminiscent to that of legendary AC/DC vocalist Bon Scott. While Black was proving his validity as a front man, guitarist Tracii Guns was putting on a guitar clinic with his flawless leads and slamming riffs. Guns is vastly underrated and deserves to be mentioned as one of the best in rock right now.

Some of the many show highlights included a cover of the Rolling Stones “Can’t Always Get What you Want.” Black and company hit this one out of the park by adding a little L.A. Guns sleaziness to it. The band also played a brand new track called “Hole in My Radio” a catchy and melodic song, which had the crowd singing along soon into it. This track (and the new material, which was played on the tour bus before the show exclusively for the GlamMetal.com team) showcased the bands new, unique and mature sound.

Midway through the set, the band invited the members of the audience up onstage for a sing along to the classic hit “Ballad of Jayne.” Shortly after, bassist Jeremy Guns stepped up to the mic and added a punk flair to the song “Shut the Fuck Up,” from the Nikki Sixx , Tracii Guns band The Brides of Destruction. A few songs later, drummer Chad Steward switched with Black and took over lead vocals for an interesting version of AC/DC’s “TNT.” The band then ended the evening with “Rip and Tear” with Black doing a series of reckless back flips on the stage. Afterwards, Black emphatically announced “We are L.A. Guns, the best fucking band in the world.” And on this night, nobody in the audience could possibly disagree.
