If you have any sort of Porn Movie collection, you most likely have a film that Janine is in. She has been a Star in the Porn Film industry for over 18 years. In the mid nineties, a home made video that she filmed with Motley Crue’s Vince Neil leaked out and she found herself in many tabloid magazines. Janine has recently appeared in the blockbuster adult film “Pirates” and “Ain’t Misbehaving.”
What follows is exclusive interview with Janine. During this interview, she discusses her recent decision to retire from making movies and much more.
Hey Janine, I read on your message board that you may not do anymore xxx movies. Is this true? I think so. I quit a couple years ago to move on to something else. I then found myself in a situation where I had to go back to work and I did. But, now I’m looking to get out again and get my butt back to school.
What do you want to go back to school for? I don’t know. It’s been so long since I was in school. At this point right now, I’m unsure. I’m not really one for the books, but I’m going to give it a good try.
Was there anything in particular thing that made you decide to quit making movies? No, it’s just time. I started when I was 18. I did Penthouse in 87’ wearing leg warmers. I’ve been doing this for 18 years now. I have two kids, a 14 year old boy and a two year old girl. I just want to be Mom now and there always comes a time when you reevaluate your life, and it was a blast. I have absolutely no regards. Everything was fantastic, the job I had was a dream come true. Last Monday, I turned 37 and that kind of gave me the wake up call. I’ll leave to business and make room for the young little cupcakes.
Well you are kind of going out in a blaze of glory with your last two films being so popular, “Pirates” and “Ain’t Misbehaving.” I think that it’s good timing. I don’t want to continue in this industry and dwindle down to nothing. I don’t want to do a film like “Granny in her Panties” or something like that. So I think that it’s a perfect time all around. But, I talk tough now, saying that I’m going to be able to walk away from an industry that I’m definitely going to miss and has been great to me over the years. I’m going to miss that camaraderie. Maybe I should give myself a little leeway and say that I’m 95 % sure that I’m not doing anymore films.
Have you ever thought about becoming a producer? That would be a consideration if I lived in LA, that’s kind of were the home of Porn is. I’m just this kind of country bumpkin right now. It would be too difficult to make that kind of commute. I think that if I’m going to make this break from the industry complete, I would stay away from it completely.
I want to talk a bit more about the movie “Pirates” It’s getting a ton of press and I’m wondering if you know how many copies of it have been sold? I have no idea. It’s not something that I keep tabs on. The most I hear is feed back form fans. It seems that by a landslide, people really appreciate it. But as far as sales numbers, I really don’t know.
Is it one of your favorite movies that you’ve been in? Yeah, it’s far beyond anything that I’ve ever done. Joone, the director is also in the process of doing a futuristic movie scheduled to come out in 2006. I might have to get my fingers in that. I think Joone and Digital Playground have pushed the bar and the others are going to follow, and I think that the audience deserves that.
Yeah, I don’t watch porn and I know some people that won’t watch it if there isn’t a story line. It seems as if Joone and Digital Playground are making movies that many couples can enjoy. The movies are a little more mainstream. Yeah, you are right. When I was introduced to porn, it was one of those things that was taboo and you would keep it in the closet. I liked the titillation. I had Flex TV, it was before any kind of cable and you would get a lot of static and get a boob here and a boob there kind of thing. But, I loved the feeling of it (Porn) being so taboo, where it really wasn’t talked about. I’m not sure if I want porn to be too mainstream, because I’m kind of conflicted with this because I don’t want porn to be talked about on the evening news and in every magazine. I think it has its place, porn that can attract the couples. I just don’t want to hear porn talked about during dinner.
Do you watch porn at all? I own one movie and I hardly ever watch it. I have to be on fire to pull that out. I watch it maybe once a year. I personally don’t require it, I get hot and bothered just looking at the mailman. I’m a live wire without it.

Speaking of live wire, let’s talk about your infamous sex tape with Vince Neil. What kind of impact did that have on your career? I really did pay attention to the impact. I was devastated when I was told it was out. It was like I just got hit by a train. At the time, I didn’t want any boy-girl stuff out. It was something that Vince and I did privately. Everyone was saying “Janine has a tape and she sold it”, “Vince has a tape and he sold it.” But, I swear to god, I still don’t know what the hell happened. I didn’t have the tape and still don’t know how that tape got out. I’m not going to point fingers, it is what it is. But, I think that the tape gave people who were curious, a little insight. It wasn’t very impressive, I think that it was kind of goofy, just two people being horny and I never intended on making it this blockbuster and doing acrobatic sexual stuff. I was just having a good time with Vince and I don’t know, some people liked it and some didn’t.
It’s a good lesson, if you make a tape it’s most likely going to leak out and get into the wrong hands. Yeah, you’re right.
Do you think that in order to officially be considered a porn star that you have to sleep with a member of Motley Crue? Laughs...Yeah really, I’ve had my share of the hair bands, that’s for sure.
Do you still talk to Vince at all? No, last year Motley Crue was playing in Hollywood on my birthday and me and a couple girls went to the show and rocked out and that was it. Vince is a good guy and he is sweet. When I knew Vince, he was a good guy and sweetheart and was very giving. Now I think that he’s is very into his wife and in love and he’s not going to fuck it up. We saw each at the show from a distance and it was respectful and cool.
Well, that’s all I have. Thank you for your time Janine and best of luck in what ever you end up doing. Thank you, Thomas.
