Jani Lane Review by Wayne "Doobie" Dubay, Photos by Lyn Sou Rhythm House Cafe. Bridgeville, PA July 2nd, 2006

Just for the record let's get the story straight! Jani Lane ROCKED the Rhythm House, it was gettin' pretty late! Up on the stage like the rocker that he is, he had everyone smilin' and bangin' their fuckin' heads! Behind him to the left and behind him to the right, Jani Lane's band rocked, late into the night!
That pretty much says it all right there folks, but I've got more to say about this incredible all-ages show on July, 2nd at the Rhythm House Cafe in Bridgeville, PA. Jani's kick ass band rolled into the house at around 10:30 pm, greeted by many awaiting fans. Before the show, the band mingled, signed autographs, and took pictures with anyone who wanted to meet this hard rockin line-up, which is by far one of the best bands that Jani has ever had backing him. The new version of Jani Lane's Warrant is, 16-year old guitar Prodigy Dario Lorina, Daniel Conway (DC) on drums, the very well dressed Chad Macdonald on bass, and we can't forget wildman Shawn Zavodney on keys. This line-up is heavy, loud and tight! For a bunch of young musicians, these guys play better than many well seasoned musicians in their forties. Simply amazing, and you can see that even Jani is blown away by how well his new band plays.
When the clock struck 11:00 pm, and after a short but very sweet set from two local rock bands, Chastity and Burning Earth, Jani hit the stage to a packed house of extremely excited fans, opening the show with "So Damn Pretty (Should Be Against The Law)," which got the crowd pumped even more. As a matter of fact, the crowd was so pumped up, a fight broke out in the middle of the song, prompting Jani to stop the song, and the fight. He yelled at the pricks fighting, and I quote, "Take it outside, and don't ruin a good time for people who paid good money to come out and have fun!" Jani handled it like the true professional that he is, and then he and the band kicked into "D.R.F.S.R.," without any more incidents the rest of the night. Just pure Rock N' Roll, and a whole lot of fun! Aside from Jani Lane being the gifted vocalist/songwriter that he is, there is no denying the awesome stage presence that this rocker has to offer, and without a doubt, he can easily get any crowd going, anywhere, anytime. He proved it again tonight for this kickass show here at the great Rhythm House Cafe in beautiful Bridgeville, PA! Jani and his band continued to rip through hit after hit tonight, playing songs that we all remember and love, like the beautiful rock ballads, such as "Heaven," and "I Saw Red." Of coarse, it wouldn't be a Jani Lane show if you didn't hear " Down Boys," or "Uncle Tom's Cabin" at some point in the set. Jani Lane's Warrant recieved nothing but great feedback from the audience, and the audience got exactly what they came to witness, and that was a kick ass rock show turned up to ten!
Jani Lane's Warrant closed the show with "Cherry Pie," with the whole audience singing along. I'll say this, for a guy who didn't want to be remembered as the "Cherry Pie Guy," he surely embraced the song, and made it lots of fun live! It was easily a crowd favorite for sure. Jani and the band played a little longer set than they normally would, due to the highly energetic crowd. You could just see Jani feeding off the crowd, and really digging it. Goes to show you folks, the louder you scream, the longer a band just might play.
In closing this review, I have to give credit where credit is due, our good friend and promoter, "Sweet" Lou Hetzer of Glam Slam Productions, literally worked his ass off to make this great event happen. There is more work involved in putting together a rock show than people realize, so great job to Lou and his staff for making shit happen! On behalf of GlamMetal.com TM, and Glam Slam Productions, we'd like to thank Jani, his beautiful girlfriend Sheila, and his band of rock n' roll animals for coming out and stomping all of our asses here in PA, and of course, thanks to everyone who came out to the show as well! YOU ALL ROCK! 10+

Note from Doobie: I'd just like to say to anyone out there that thrives on negative press, don't always believe what you read or hear. As a rock journalist, and a fan, I've witnessed Jani Lane perform several times over the years since the 80's, and it's been nothing but high energy rock shows. Yeah, so an artist may be off a little bit here or there now and then, so what! All I can say to that, is that it sucks to be human I guess. However though, to the people that are haters, and like to stir up shit, and make up lies about certain artists, including Jani, who happens to be a great guy with a big heart, GET A LIFE! Here at GlamMetal.com TM it's the music that matters most!
