Interview with Inga Brittingham of Naked Beggars

With their third record, entitled XXX, about ready for release GlamMetal caught up with Inga Brittingam to give us the dish on what’s been happening down in Nashville since our last talk with the band a little over a year ago. From health concerns, to line-up changes, to colon health and everything in between, we’re certainly not the National Inquirer of the rock scene, but we do work to bring our readers the real story, straight form the lips of the musicians themselves, and what lovely lips they are, don’t you agree?
INGA, WELCOME. FIRST OFF...HOW IS ERIC'S HEALTH? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?
Well, Eric has had already two heart attacks before this last one. So, when he started feeling the pressure in his chest he rested a little while then decided when the pressure didn't go away, "Shit, it's a heart attack." So Lisa, who was home at the time, he kindly told her that he needed to be driven to the hospital. Then, she freaked and did about 100 getting there. He called me calmly and told me he was having chest pain. I proceeded like hell to the hospital (from work) and I got there almost the exact same time he arrived. Not looking too hot, I must say. But, they got him in quick and his personal heart doctor was there to do the procedure and he had to take it easy for a while. But he is now, back on his feet. He quit smoking and is eating healthier, and he is taking it as his last chance! I'm glad for that! I told him a week before his heart attack that if he didn't quit smoking I was going to divorce him. Unfortunately, it took the heart attack and not my feeble attempt to coerce him to quit!
IS HE ON ANY SPECIAL DIET OR REGIMEN THAT WILL IMPACT YOUR LIFESTYLE ONCE TOURING RESUMES?
He will be touring with us, but just taking it easy. He will be on medications but nothing really out of the ordinary. Just don't smoke near him, or I'll kill ya!
WHAT ABOUT TOM KEIFER, WHATS UP WITH HIS HEALTH ISSUES?
Now, Tom had surgery as soon as he got off of tour last year. He healed and is gaining all of his vocal range back each week. So, he should be 150% when they are ready to go back out. I am not quite sure when exactly that will be.

LAST WE SPOKE TOM WAS WORKING ON A SOLO RECORD, ANY NEWS THERE? AND ARE THE BOYS WORKING ON ANY NEW CINDERELLA MATERIAL FOR 2007?
I know about the record, but I really haven't heard anything for a while. In the meantime those guys haven't been working together at all, so no there will be no new Cinderella material this year.
ON TO NAKED BEGGARS....WHATS THE WORKING TITLE OF THE NEW RECORD & WHEN CAN WE GET OUR HANDS ON A COPY?
"XXX" will be the title. We actually do not have an exact release date. Our recording got pushed back, but we are actually recording April 17,18, and 19th. Then all the over-dubs, etc...all the pain in the ass shit!
WHAT IS THE CURRENT BAND LINE-UP AND COULD YOU SHED SOME LIGHT ON THE DEPARTURE OF KRISTINE AND OTHER MEMBERS?
Well, Kristine decided to take a hiatus. But, it looks like she will not be coming back. She did contribute to the writing on this album coming out. And we have replaced Shawn with a female drummer, whom I have become best friends w/ Lisa Rav. A strong Italian Woman. That's all I have to say! She really is a true rock drummer as well, and fits the band to a tee!!!
WELL EVERYONE ELSE IS FALLING APART AT THE SEAMS (PUN-INTENDED) BUT YOU LOOK GREAT, IN FACT, I SAW SOME RECENT PHOTOS, YOU SEEMED TO HAVE CHANGED UP YOUR LOOK A BIT, HAIR, MAKE-UP ETC. WHAT’S UP THERE COVER GIRL?
I have always changed my look, cause I'm bored, etc., but nothing really different from what I've always done. And it won't be the last, I can guarantee it! And thank you for the compliment!! LOL!
WHAT IS THE DIRECTION OR SOUND OF THE NEW RECORD?
Well, we still have our bottom-line rock ‘n roll, but Lisa has brought some songs to the table that expand our sound more. Her songs definitely sound a bit more modern, but I love the mix. Once again, you will find a great mixture of songs on this album!
ARE THERE ANY COVERS OR GUEST APPEARANCES?
You know what, I don't know yet. I actually am thinking about a few...we shall see!
WHAT WILL BE THE FIRST SINGLE? WHAT SONG ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF OR DIG THE MOST & WHY ?
Well, I believe that is to be determined, once again...I'm torn. I always like the fun rowdy songs, but the popular ones, radio play ones, usually are different from what I like! LoL!
WHEN WILL THE TOUR KICK OFF AND WHERE WILL IT BE TAKING YOU? 
Oh, we are starting soon, end of April, we are going to MO, Breese, St.Louis, and a little place called Ellsinore! But then we will be heading all over the place. ANY MORE JUICY GOSSIP YOU WANT TO SHARE? FUNNY STORIES? FAVORITE REALITY TV MOMENT AND/OR AN UPDATE ON YOUR IRRITABLE/IRREGULAR BOWEL ISSUES...GOT THAT UNDER CONTROL YET? (HAHA)
No, we still have horrible bowel movements. Just recently Lisa had a fissure on her ass! But it went away! And we have been the usual band fighting and cussing at each other. It's really actually tough to write as a whole band together, but it makes the most sense. We get the best results when you put everyone's heads together! But my god, do we disagree on things! And My freakin' hormones are going insane at the same time! They are so lucky nobody got fuckin' punched!
HOW MANY MUSICIANS/VAGRANTS ARE CURRENTLY RESIDING AT YOUR RESIDENCE AT THE MOMENT?
Well, Lisa just stays with us, because she actually lives in PA. She has fallen in love with Nashville, though, and is wanting to eventually move here. At least she does shit (cleaning, not poop) around the house. And our old tech, Bryan was just here for a few days. He is out with Evanescence. See what happens when you start working with us...you get a better job and leave us!!! He'll be out all year with them. I'm proud of him!
ANY NEW ADDITIONS TO THE BRITTINGHAM PALACE, CATS? DOGS? OTHER?
That's it! And Thank the fuck ____ ! Eric's daughter will be graduating and maybe sometime in the next twenty years we might be alone again! LOL!
