Buffalo Goo Review The Goo Goo Dolls return to the Buffalo, NY area The Goo Goo Dolls played to a near sold-out crowd at Darien Lake on Saturday July 22. Their 70 minute set consisted of a good mix of classic hits and material from their recent CD, "Let Love In." But, the most surprising and impressive aspect of this show was the incredible turnout. Usually, the Goo's can draw a little over 10,000 to a Buffalo show. Well on this night, they almost sold out an amphitheater that holds 21,000. This was an incredible victory for the band, considering that their new CD "Let Love In" hasn't really set the world on fire, as far as sales go. And to be honest, I really don’t think that the other co-headlining band, The Counting Crows really had much, if any impact on ticket sales. If they would have played after the Goo Goo Dolls on this night, like they’re playing on all of the other shows on this tour, I bet only a small fraction of the audience would have remained. This was clearly the night of Goo, it keeps getting bigger and better every time they return home.

Besides the Goo’s, another highlight of this show was another band from Buffalo NY- The Last Conservative. This band is on Goo’s Robby Takac’s Good Charamel Record imprint. The Last Conservative played a 30 minute, high energy set that was well received and helped them win over many new fans. They will be releasing their new CD on Sept 22. This is absolutely a band to keep an eye on. The Last Conservative are one of the most exciting band to come out of Buffalo, NY since, well .....the Goo Goo Dolls.
