Depew, NY-The Dizzy n’ Jizzy tour, featuring Dizzy Reed, the current keyboardist of Guns n’ Roses, and Jizzy Pearl (formerly of Love/Hate, Ratt) played to a sparse, but appreciative crowd on Monday night in a suburb of Buffalo, NY. Dizzy and Jizzy were both backed up by an all star band consisting of guitar star Alex Grossi(Quiet Riot, Bang Tango, Beautiful Creatures), bassist Chuck Wright (Quiet Riot, House of Lords) and drummer Dave Mareno(Puddle of Mudd). This well oiled Rock n' Roll machine was focused and note for note perfect all night long.

Dizzy Reed’s set consisted of mostly Guns n’ Roses tracks from the 'Use Your Illusion' releases. Many were songs in which he recorded with the band. “Pretty Tied Up,” “Estranged,” “Don’t Cry” and “Dust n’ Bones” were played with great intensity, showcasing the all-star band’s chemistry, vast talent and attention to detail. The band also played a cool version of the Bowie classic "Ziggy Stardust." Reed didn't hide the fact that he came here to party, many times asking the audience to get drunk with him. "The more you drink the better we sound" joked Dizzy. He also did a great job emulating Axl W. Rose and after a while (maybe due to the couple Jack and coke's this reviewer was indulging in) he actually started looking a bit like a younger Axl. It must be stated the Reed is an amazing pianist, adding some tasteful and intriguing piano/keyboard parts to the songs.

Other songs performed included Sweet Child O' Mine Time of the Seasons Knocking on Heaven's Door Bad Obsession Patience Use to Love Her
Jizzy Pearl opened the show playing a set that consisted mainly of material from the band he fronted during the late 80's -Love/Hate. His high energy set was impressive to say the least. While many would have just phoned it in, due to the small audience, Jizzy didn’t care, he’s a true professional. He rocked out as if he was playing to 10,000. Musically, the Love/Hate material is a bit challenging and props go out to the all-star band for nailing every song. Jizzy ended his set with Love/Hates biggest hits "Blackout in the Red Room" and "Why do think they call it Dope." Overall, this was a great evening to sit back and enjoy watching a great band fronted by two rock superstars.
C'mon people if this tour hits your town, get off your asses and get down to the club. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
