Burnt Coyote A Glam Metal presents show Club Infinity October 7, 2006 Review by Tracey L
A sincere “Thank You” goes out to all who helped celebrate the Burnt Coyote 15-year reunion show at Club Infinity on October 7th. A sincere “F” you goes out to the US Customs Officers at the Peace Bridge who decided that Revolver would not be allowed to cross the border into the US, resulting in some disappointed fans. While the real criminals smuggled narcotics by the kilo to and fro, agents chose to focus their attention on Revolver’s new guitarist who was unduly hassled, finger printed and most likely cavity searched. Singer, Nick Walsh, and the band send their deepest apologies. They were looking forward to this gig for weeks and were anxious to play some material off their upcoming album. Next time guys!!! (We still love you.) However, the show must go on…and it did…and was nothing short of spectacular. With about 150 B.C. friends and fans on hand to welcome the boys back to the stage, the adrenaline flowed from the soul of front man Ed Banas like lightning to a steel rod as he wasted no time bringing the crowd back in time with the band’s grand repertoire of heavy hitting original tunes including “Battering Ram”, “Dr. Bones” and “MeanKiller.” “Reach”, “Lonely Lady”, “Spider-Man” and the anthem d’jour “On a Binge Tonight” were among the fan favorites.
These songs not only withstand the test of time but also reflect each of the band member’s contributions and talents over several years of writing and playing in clubs all over Western New York in the early 90’s. Out of respect for their loyal fans base, the band changed guitarists and drummers between sets to deliver both the earlier and the later incarnation of Burnt Coyote. The first set featured, band founders, John Jeffrey on guitar and Pete Gugino on the skins. Set #2 welcomed 80’s Hair Band guitarist, Brad Peace, and drummer Pete Wilson of BareBack Jack. Maintaining the fierce bass lines through both sets was veteran bassist Tom Peffer and proudly commanding the helm was the former raven-haired Banas, emitting an endearing charisma that could charm the panties off a nun and pipes that shine even brighter than his now golden locks of hair. (Ed note: Get a room)

Possessing a heap of songs to chose from, the double set included the best of the best of B.C. and a couple of covers thrown into the mix including GnR’s “It’s so Easy” and Ugly Kid Joe’s “Everything About You.”

It was a night of old friends, new friends, good music and good times. It was cool to see that although fifteen years have past, these guys were able to rekindle their bond. A bond to create music and play it for their fans, with the passion and intensity of a Battering mutha fuckin’ Ram baby!
