Black Label Society is currently on tour in New England. The band performed to a packed Webster Theatre in Hartford last night. The Shot To Hell features a diverse set of new songs, which include a very special acoustic set, but at the same time the band is rocking as hard as ever. BLS is performing many new tracks from "Shot To Hell," and also a wide variety of their past hits.

I had recently had the opportunity to speak with Black Label Society guitarist Nick Catanese, in this Exclusive GlamMetal.com
TM -Black Label Society ‘Shot to Hell’ tour interview update.                  www.nickcatanese.com

Nick, the Shot To Hell tour is well underway. How has the tour been going so far? Black Label Society performed to a packed house last night at The Webster Theatre in Hartford.
The tour has been awesome. The crowds have been amazing, so good so far.

I really enjoyed your guitar solos on "Spoke in the Wheel," and "The Last Goodbye". How are you enjoying playing lead, while Zakk plays piano on those two songs? You are really making the boss proud for sure
It’s fuckin insane playing solos that Zakk wrote and I hope I am making him proud. I'm trying anyway, but yea it's an awesome feeling. The first night I did the solos I was shittin’ my pants. But it's all-cool now. I love it

I can really hear Dime's influences in your guitar playing on this particular BLS tour. How has Dimebag Darrell Abbott influenced your guitar playing? It was really cool, when Zakk said, "Dime lives in Black Label."
Well, Dime does live with us. Anyone that has been lucky enough to be friends with him, and he is in with his fans as well. He is never gone. Dime is always with us in our hearts but yes he has influenced me a   lot.

What songs on this tour do you enjoy playing the most? I must say, the new songs sound amazing live.
All the new songs. It feels like a whole new band when we play them. It’s fuckin killer.

I really enjoyed the band opening with new song,” New Religion.” Will that be the new single? Also will you be making a video soon?
I hope some day it will be, that's my favorite song  But it's all up to the higher aboves. I just roll with it ya know? I don’t ask questions, just enjoy what I got. A video is getting shot soon, I just don’t know when though.

One of the highlights of the Shot to Hell Tour is the acoustic set. It really showcases the diversity of the band. The set is really well orchestrated. How do you feel about the balance between melodic and heaviness in the BLS set?
It has to be there, we are not a metal band. We have songs that you can sing along too and enjoy. That's where we are. It’s about quality and songs you can remember. That’s what we want.

Well I think Black Label Society has accomplished their goal this tour for stellar guitar work, and quality songs. You recently made a guitar instruction video in Chicago for Washburn Guitars for an upcoming episode on Comcast. Tell me a little about that and where the fans can see it?
It's going to be in the December issue of Guitar World, so check it out!

Black Label Society recently toured Australia. Any special highlights from the Australian tour?
Just seeing Australia for the first time was amazing. It is so beautiful, and the people are amazing there too. There were great crowds and they rocked their Asses off

Were you a big fan of Steve Irwin? Did you get to go to his memorial in Australia? I know he passed away, the same time BLS was on tour there.
I really respect what he did for animals and everything. He seemed just like the most happy and loving life guy. I would have loved to met him. But it seems all the beautiful people are needed upstairs. Dime, Steve, Randy, everyone.

Nick, is there anything else that you would to say to your fans about the Black Label Society Tour?
Just sit back and enjoy man. It's a cool set of new and old, some piano songs and just a SHOW, and to all the Black Label bashers on the boards. Iron Maiden does rule and I’m glad you hope we all die. Because of you we are GOING NOWHERE, so suck on that!
