Well here it is-The GlamMetal.com- Top 10 of 2005 as decided by the senior staff here at GlamMetal.com. This is always one of the most time-consuming, controversial and stressful tasks of the year. After a month of discussions and, well frankly, intense arguments, the list has been made. So congrats goes out to our ten winners. In retrospect, one thing was certain about hard rock music in 2005, and that was the quality being produced is better than it’s been in a long time (although it may not be on the charts). And 2006 promises to be even better, with a plethora of new hard rock releases scheduled to come out. And maybe even the new Guns n’ Roses, if anyone still gives a fuck about that. Anyways here it is, in order of greatest ....The Best of 2005...... Drum roll please......

1. L.A. Guns – ‘Tales from the Strip’ Lyrically themed around L.A. and all that it entails, this may be THE best LAG record to date. Replacing Tracii Guns on guitar, Stacey Blades has filled the role with ease and may be responsible for re-igniting the fire. Phil Lewis conquers new territory vocally. Polished, but not over-produced. Every song is a winner. TL
2. Stryper- ‘Reborn’ The resurrected Stryper returns with their first studio release since 1989’s “Against The Law.” The band gives us a CD filled with bold Christian lyrics, an intense hard rocking sound with a bit of a modern edge and incredible harmonies. This release truly is Michael Sweet’s finest hour. New bassist’ Tracy Ferrie is a welcomed addition to the band’s rhythm section. TSO
3. Vain- ‘On the Line’ The cream of 80's old school glam, with a breath of new life. Davy Vain's sugar sweet vocals reach new octaves. Great hooks. Great songs. If you dig "No Respect" you'll love this one. TL
4. Crash Kelly –‘Penny Pills’ Sean Kelly writes the ultimate 70’s hard rock glam masterpiece. Retro riffs, cool leads and clever lyrics. ‘Penny Pills’ is the perfect CD for that Saturday night party that you want never to end. “11 Cigarettes” should have been a smash hit. Crash Kelly will have a new CD in 2006, which will most certainly bring them to the next level of Superstardom. Simply put, it’s going to RAWK, I can’t wait!!! TSO
5. Beautiful Creatures- ‘Deuce’ Gravel spitting vocals. Awesome guitar work. Meaty bass. Dark, deep and heavy. Must be played loud for maximum pleasure. TL
6. Wednesday 13- ‘Transylvania 90210’ The new king of horror-rock proves that there is life after the Murderdolls. 14 sinister, graveyard inspired classics that would make even Alice Cooper bow down and claim he’s not worthy. “Bad Things” is the ultimate ‘fuck you and die asshole’ anthem. TSO
7. The Erotics- ‘Rock and Roll Killing Machine’ Mike Trash and the boys tease us with an EP consisting of 5 infectious, new sleazy anthems and a cool cover of WASP’s “I Want to be Somebody.” The Erotics are best unsigned band on the face of the planet. New Greatest hits CD coming soon!!! TSO
8. Revolver -‘Turbulence’ Most of this record will rip your head off with ferocious rhythms and the smooth articulate vocals of Nick Walsh (formerly of Slik Toxic). The ballads are quality. A fully engaged throttle of emotions fill this one as the lyrical content explores a variety of evil undercurrents like sin, rage, guilt and remorse but throws in a little "blue sky" to make you feel better. TL 9. Black Label- ‘Society-Mafia’ Zakk Wylde just goes ape shit on this one. Great songs, killer- out of this world, guitar work. Zakk has a great talent for mixing melody and mayhem. “In this River” is a touching tribute to Dimebag Darrell. TSO
10. Zan Clan- ‘Who the Fuck is the Zan Clan’ Ex-Shotgun Messiah vocalist Zinny J. Zan returns with a very satisfying 11 track sleaze- rock smorgasbord. Great production and guitar work from Chris Laney. Too bad the Zan Clan never got over to tour America. There isn’t a hard-rock fan on the planet that wouldn’t appreciate this release. TSO
