The Glam-Metal.com top 10 Releases of 2003.
Simply put, 2003 wasn’t really the greatest year for new music. So coming up with a list of the top 10 releases of the year turned out to be quite a challenge. But after a month of bickering, name calling, fist fighting and slamming Shots of JD, the crue at Glam-Metal.com came up with our top 10 list. It turned out to be a year in which the independent label releases ruled and major label releases sucked. So sit back, enjoy and if you need to, you know where to send your complaints.

.The Erotics-“All that Glitters Is Dead” -This is the one that we all agreed on. Mike Trash and comrades put together a 12 track glam/punk/rock epic. Witty, rowdy, raunchy lyrics with hooks, hooks and more hooks. Mark my word, this band is going to be huge one day.
.Maroon 5-“Songs About Jane” Not exactly a glam release, but the drummer is wearing a Motley Crue shirt on the back cover. A melodic masterpiece filled with rock and a touch of soul. This will be one of the biggest bands of 2004.
.Jet-“Get Born”- Rock the way it’s supposed to be. This Cd is loaded with potential singles and is contagious after the first listen. This one will still be talked about in 2004. It will move a few million before it’s over.
.The Darkness- “Permission to Land” –This may be the release that brings Glam-Metal back to the masses. Great guitar work and vocalist whom you’ll either love or hate. “Permission to land” could become the most important rock release since Guns N’ Roses’ –“Appetite for Destruction.”
.Bret Michaels- “Songs of Life”- Poison’s front man’s solo release is filled with introspective power ballads and rockers. A great release that should of received much more attention.
.Marilyn Manson-“The Age of Grotesque”- The king of shock rock does it again with new bassist and songwriter Tim Skold formerly of Shotgun Messiah. This Cd debuted at #1, but quickly fell off the charts. Some of Manson’s most innovative material.
.Fuel- “Natural Selection”- I was never a big fan of this band until I heard this CD. Filled with emotion and heartbreak. A Cd to get you through your divorce.
.The Distillers- “Coral Fang”-Brutal punk release and an emotional sand storm. Vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Brody Dalle is more Courtney Love than Courtney ever was. This Cd can only be played on 10.
.Crash Kelly- “Penny Pills”- Our favorite band from Canada brings back the sound and attitude of the 70’s. If you dig T.Rex, Cheap Trick or Gilby Clark, you’ll love this CD. It’s a crack it up and Party CD
.Various Artists-“Cock N’ Roll”- An excellent compilation from the Sleazegrinder.com of some of the raunchiest glam/punk /rock bands on the face of the earth. It’s more fun than a getting a blow job in the back seat of your car after a night of drinking and watching Pretty Boy Floyd. Well, maybe not, but it’s still a great sleazy CD.
